An Ode to Stellenbosch

This project is a non-briefed one, that meant that one had full control over what we were required to do. This led to the creation of my “Ode to Stellenbosch”. I have spent the last three years of my life in this beautiful town which has changed who I am, specifically as a creative. 

This project was inspired by my old art that was drawn on the material Calico, all these drawings are inspired by Eastern aesthetic. This then led to the displaying of different drawing onto a kimono to accentuate the Eastern Aesthetic. All photographs that were printed onto the fabric have been taken throughout the last three years as well as some drawing that have happened over the last three years. All drawn illustrations have been inspired by different events as well as things that have inspired me the last three years. Stellenbosch is such a beautiful place and because I am a girl coming from Johannesburg, the change in the scenery around me into something so very beautiful has inspired me every single day that I have been here.
